Computerized reservation systems also known as center reservation systems (CRS) has an important role in the modern travel agencies life, because it is the systems responsible for all the online booking that all customer book their flights hotels and holidays pack online and also help the travel agencies or holidays companies to keep track of all the booking online and offline. The history of Computerized reservation systems The first company to introduce CRS to their customers was American Airlines in 1946 when they installed the automated booking system using experimental electromechanical reservisor that was a new machine at the time that used a magnetic drum to temporary storage the booking informations. The magnetronic reservisor proved successful and was soon started to be used by other several airlines and the systems as also incorporated in other companies such as Sheraton Hotel and Goodyear for inventory control. The modern GDS's generally allow customers to book airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, as well as other activities and tours. The CRS is also used by railway and bus companies to provide to their customers make the reservations online. The GDS also used to relay computerized information for users in the hotel industry, making reservation and ensuring that the hotel is not overbooked.
