If we go back a few decades ago, people did not venture to distant places mostly because of lack of Information available about it. With the advent of MIS into the travel industry, the modern-day traveller has a plenty of options to choose from, with Internet being one of the essential tools. (Venugopal, CK.) See below the Anatomy of a System: Management Information Systems is used to make the business more efficient, making use of technology to achieve that, having that in mind, we will apply MIS for Intrepid Travel, our chosen company. Data Capturing The key aspect of a successful business is how they communicate with their customer. To do this effectively they must understand their audience. These systems such as Tableau, Google Data Studio provide easy to use dashboards and an ability to graphically display relevant information. Data Information Distribution Now that we have gathered the right information, legally stored and adequately processed, we need to ensure the right people have access to the key data at the essential period. Intrepid should have frequent control of the users data, such as last trip purchased and last access to the website, and then, make use of Email marketing with offers and holidays packages for the destination that the user was looking for. Data Controlling As the company evolves so too does their goals and KPIs. Intrepid Travel must continuously access goals and performances and adjust data processes, ensuring that outputs are of high quality and that the gathered information of the users are kept safe and won’t be accessed by unauthorised personnel accordingly.
